Master Landscape Plans

A master landscape plan typically begins with an assessment of the site, considering factors like topography, soil conditions, sun exposure, and existing vegetation. It involves collaboration between the homeowner and landscape designer to understand the client’s preferences, needs, and desired functionalities for the space.

Softscape Design & Renovation

Softscape design and renovation in landscaping involve the careful planning, selection, and transformation of the living elements within a landscape. It focuses on the horticultural aspects, such as plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, and other organic materials, to create a beautiful and thriving outdoor environment. Softscape renovation may be necessary when existing plantings have become overgrown, unhealthy, or outdated. It involves removing and replacing plants, rejuvenating existing plantings, and incorporating new selections to refresh and revitalize the landscape.

Seasonal Plantings

Seasonal plantings in landscaping involve the strategic selection and installation of plants, flowers, and foliage that showcase the beauty and colors of each season. It is a dynamic aspect of landscape design that allows for an ever-changing and vibrant outdoor environment. Seasonal plantings can include annual flowers, bulbs, and seasonal vegetables that bloom and thrive during specific times of the year. By incorporating plants that are known for their unique seasonal characteristics, such as blossoming cherry trees in spring or colorful foliage in the fall, a landscape can undergo a stunning transformation throughout the year.

What is Property Naturalization?

Property naturalization refers to converting existing, constructed outdoor elements into more natural-looking features, typically found in landscape design and architecture. It creates spaces that have developed naturally rather than being designed and built.

Common examples include:

  • Rewild the landscaping around your pool, patio, or outdoor dining area to restore the natural ecosystem.
  • Converting manicured lawns into meadows as a haven for wildlife, pollinators, and fireflies!
  • Changing structured, formal gardens into natural landscapes using wildflowers and native plants, creating homes for native butterflies, insects, birds, and other animals.
  • Transforming hardscaped areas into natural-appearing environments.
  • Making artificial water features look like natural ponds or streams.

Do you have a drainage problem on your property?

Common fixes include grading and sloping to eliminate water build-up near your home or near other structures. Peak will work with you to determine the most effective strategies for eliminating water in areas where you don’t want it. Hardscape materials, site drainage, and creative landscape design strategies like porous pavements and dry river beds can all aid in mitigating standing water and improving yard drainage.

Hardscape Repair & Maintenance

Do you have an old retaining wall that is falling down, do you have a walkway that requires constant weeding, or a concrete patio that is cracked and deteriorating? Peak Environmental specializes in the repair and replacement of your home’s hardscapes!

Why did my hardscape fail?

Most hardscapes typically fail for 2 reasons. The first reason is that a suitable base or footing was not installed under your hardscape. Without a proper footing, the freeze-thaw cycle in the great Northeat will destroy your hardscape. The second reason hardscapes typically fail is water. If roof, lawn, and driveway runoff on your property is not properly diverted away from your patio, wall or walkway, then the freeze-thaw cycle goes into overdrive and a large amount of heaving will occur thereby destroying your hardscape.

How can Peak Environmental help me?

Peak’s hardscape technicians are skilled in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all of your home’s hardscape.
